Antique Edwardian Scottish Suffragette Pendant Necklace Circa 1915

This stunning Antique Edwardian Scottish Suffragette necklace and pendant has been commissioned in Sterling Silver. The pendant features a Scottish thistle shaped design and has been set with an array of Paste stones which are coloured green, white and violet. The pendant also features a lovely faux pearl dropper.

Suffragettes liked to be depicted as feminine, their jewellery popularly consisted of Violet, Green and White stones which were chosen to counter the masculine women¡¯s rights stereotypes put forward by opponents. Green is for Give, white is for Women and violet is for Votes!

A beautiful pendant which comes on a fine chain and references the Scottish devotees of the Women¡¯s Rights movement.
